The Happy UX Generalist
Hi there, am Helena. I was recently a Games User Researcher for Affecture and a UX Researcher at GAMUCATEX. I am currently pursuing a job in the Copenhagen area or remotely. I can see how UX can be useful in other job titles, and as a recent graduate, I am open-minded to many possibilities and exciting projects out there. Who knows what 2025 will bring?

What are my main competencies?
Innovation
Empathy
Facilitation
Innovation
Ideas just come to me easily, and my latest was a redesigned prototype of my Christmas present from December 2024. During my studies at Zealand Academy, I was often the one in a group that noticed a problem and had an innovative idea to solve it, from thinking of a voice-controlled coffee machine to coming up with an app to change unethical behaviour on social media platforms. I put this competence to good use when, for instance, I designed a communication intranet and wrote an onboarding guide for a chain store I worked for, which led to my promotion to Marketing Assistant.
Empathy
Noticing the atmosphere of others around me and picking up nonverbal cues has served me well as a UX Researcher. However, this competence in reading others and imagining myself in their situation stems from my years working in the service industry. This means I notice problems in the world I wish to solve for others. An example is when I developed an accessibility design proposal for the Flixbus company to decrease clicks and pages, making their site more efficient for customers needing a wheelchair or guide dog. I wish to work with a meaningful purpose and design for good.
Facilitation
My year-long experience as a User Researcher at GAMUCATEX has equipped me to plan and execute within all research phases. I led six research projects and collaborated with internal teams and external stakeholders, facilitating the back-and-forth updates between each. My ability to work cross-functionally with developers, designers, and other departments during sprint meetings illustrates that I am team-oriented, and l prefer to explain updates in person where there is more space to brainstorm ideas together and uncover needs in depth. I learned some facilitation skills at FOF and AJ&Smart.
